 Post subject: how to get the job

i am sixteen looking for a restaurant walk around magic job. i have many routins and different tricks. but i am not sure how to get the job. do i call the restuarant and randomly ask? will restaurants be asking for entertainment in the news paper? are there restuarants requesting magicians? i dont no of any that have magicians.(i am looking for advice on starting out so please dont post things saying how a 16 year old isnt ready and i shouldnt be trying to get a job) thanx

Well for one there are many topics that give advice and ideas and opinions on how to start. All you have to do is look around.

Do some research. Like DavidtheCryptic said, there are many threads on this topic.

Also, get Live at the Jailhouse, and research Kirk Charles. He has a book on the subject. Also, the Magic Menu would be worth looking into. You have a lot to learn.

With your smart alek comments to Fallingblood and others there is not many people here whill give you answers. I will tell you that Peter Lansing has written a book called "Making a Living Entertaining in Restaurants." It is available on another site.

I picked up his book a while ago, he did a good job with it. People should listen to him, whoever he is. :wink:
