The card on ceiling may really uninate off the restaurant general managers or owners.

I don't think I can get "pissed off" by the censors. It did get by!

Paddy does make a good point. Card on ceiling, can work in a restaurant enviroment, but it causes problem. For one, you have a deck of cards that is falling back to the ground. It has the potential of damaging something, or hitting a customer, who really won't be happy. It could also land in someones food, which could splatter, and dirty the persons clothing. Also, you are left with cards on the ceiling, which can be good for the spectators, however, management may not like it much. Also, when the cards do get taken down, a discolored spot can remain. Which really just doesn't look good.

So if you even consider doing card on ceiling, make sure you clear it with the manager, and tell him on some of the consequences. But really, it's better to just leave it out.

Cups and balls can cause a problem as well. Cups and balls has a tendency to take up quite a bit of room. If you do a two cup routine instead, this is kind of fixed. But still, you're taking up the customers table space. Which isn't always a good idea. Some people will get annoyed with it. So, it's something to be careful with.

The other effects seem just fine. But you don't have much material. It's better to have more material, so that customers don't get bored with seeing the same thing over and over again. If you are a good performer, people will come back to see you again. And if you perform the same effects for them over and over again, they aren't going to keep coming back. Plus, the magic is lessened for them.

Do pick up Live at the Jailhouse. It's a great DVD set and will teach you a lot. If you can find Kirk Charles guide on the subject, also pick that up. They both have lots of information, and will help you a lot.

The wife of the late Dan Turcotte is still operating the site and there are many good Restaurant items there. He has a Cups and Balls routine that plays in the hands so it doesn't take up table space. There are many other gems there as well.

Cups and Balls may or may not work well, depending on the table space you have. A 3 cup routine with final loads will take up most of the table. You also want routines that you can end quickly and cleanly should the food suddenly arrive. Many of the cups and balls routines I have seen don't really allow for that.
