Hi I'm 12 years old and I've been informed about 2 months ahead of time to do a walk around magic gig. I have been practicing a lot and have been figuring out which tricks I will bring. If you have any suggestions on what tricks I should do or anything else than please tell me.

i would learn (and perfect) as many card and coin tricks as possible...
they work good at walk around gigs because you can leave the house with nothing more than usuall, coins and a deck of cards, very portible, great reactions...

Ok it's a bit short notice to put together a routine or two, but a list of material or tricks you have might help us to give you ideas.

Right now I'm planning to do:

Scotch and soda - The only problem is the set up.

Folding Coin - I will borrow the coin from the spectator.

A trick that I can not remember the name of but it has a really nice effect.

This is all I am practicing now but I have a lot of ideas still!

You should learn some coin tricks. like the french drop. that one gets a great reaction every..... single....... time. and you can reapeat over and over and over again without any setup and the people will never figure it out. you can also do it with a borrowed coin or a singed coin it doesnt matter. if you want a demonstration just ask me and i will make a video and put it on You tube for you. i hope this helped and good luck at the gig!

What do you intend to do with the folding coin? You can do a fair few things with them. And no offense or anything but i don't think your ready for a "walk around gig"

Even more disappointing because the FD is not even a trick.

And no! You don't want to do that over and over again. You should have several methods for achieving the same result.

Back to the original post. You're not ready. You should focus on non-gimmick effects. You've only listed two effects which are limited to pretty much one trick each. Then there's possibly a third effect that you don't know the name of. You need to learn basic card and coin magic/handling with non-gimmicked props. You'll get far more from a regular deck of cards than from a packet or gimmicked deck. Same goes with coins. I'm not saying not use the other items at all, but that's all you listed and you doing a walk-around gig?!! That's why you're not ready. If that's all you know, then you don't know enough...and two months is not enough time to get efficient enough at the number of effects you should be prepared to do.

you don't wanna just stick to cards or coins, make sure you mix it up.

and I'm 13, and I've been in the same exact situation you have.
It's hard deciding.

but it also depends on the age range your preforming for.
