what is the best dvd to learn good restaurant tricks???

There's no one DVD that'll he perfect. Get several DVD's, Books, and even a few gimmicks together and put together your own routing that fits your style.

You might consider Jeff McBride's art of Card Manipulation... but you after be careful, it's very angular, thus allowing the tables behind you to see what's going on.

You might also want to consider Daryl's Encyclopedia of Card Sleights.

Not a dvd but the videos Michael Close Very Very Close vol.1-3 based on workers books.....Great stuff

i would suggest best of jay sankey volume 1, the jeff mcbirde would be more for a stage show or somthing and plus if u produced cards you'd have to pick em' up after

visuantics has a couple good tricks for resteraunts and try to pick up a copy of the resteraunt workers handbook

I think they have those on DVD now. I'm not sure, but there was one set of Michael Close DVDs that caught my eye.

I second that.

Jim Pace's Restaurant Workers handbook is fantastic. Loads of information on getting the job, keeping it, even leaving it and everything in between. plus you get some tried and tested routines, some that you need to have a bit more than average skill, however if you're going to be a restaurant performer your going to want to be a little more than your average magician.
I just bought an old video by Michael Close which is fantastic, Great tricks and most were quite easy to adapt to my performing style. Also his video, the Power of Palming is supposed to be quite good. What I've heard from others and even Jim Pace recommends this in his book. Palming is probably one of the most useful tools in restaurant performing.
If you can find it Jim Pace's lecture video. killer stuff. ropes, coins, napkins, cards. wow! all of it is top notch. his "A" material book is also quite good. haven't checked visu-antics. some overlap of tricks from reading the descriptions, but having the dvd and books would be great to get a visual as well.
Haven't heard that great reviews of R. Paul Wilsons restaurant act. not horrible either. might want to check it out. probably some good food for thought.

I thought it was guired towards street magic. I don't have it, but...

Street magic 85% of the time or more can be used in restaurants (close up)....the other 15% can be used in Parlor/club acts......It's all in how you present the material and how you represent yourself....

Disclaimer: I am trying to say that Street magic is just a way of presenting material differently....All street magic can be used in other area's as well...but is not always vice versa.....

I also like On The Spot by Gregory Wilson, No Card Tricks by Jay Sankey and On the Loose by Bill Malone....

As for actual how to work the restaurant scene videos? I'm looking for a good one myself....
