In your local library ...prob in kids section should be kidde books on magic..don't laugh..most are what you can learn in Physics class..but work because that's science.lol..example..put a WOODEN ruler on a table..let it stick out a few inches (because someone will have to hit down on it), cover it with a sheet of news paper (not single page..but the ones that have two pages with the crease in middle that other papers go in), smooth out the air under paper so the paper is flat as possible. Now bet them that they cannot lift the paper by striking down on the ruler. Try it.before using..caution wooden rule might scare them when it breaks. Never overlook the kids section in the library..really....there's stuff there that"ll make even you scratch ur head.
