I'm just back from my usual spot at the restaurant where I work doing close-up table hopping. Here's what happend. I usually start my routine by approaching a table, pulling a sponge ball from someones ear and then introducing myself. I then produce another sponge ball and go into a SB routine. So I approached this table and produced the two balls. This guy slowly reaches over and gently squeezes one of the balls. He then picks it up and pops it in his mouth. He then picks up the next sponge ball and pops it in his mouth. He then reaches over and drinks about a third of a pint of beer. The rest of the group at his table look on in horror. He then sits there......doing nothing...THIS JUST HAPPENED TO ME TONIGHT!! What would you do in this situation. I'll tell you what I did...but first I want so reaction from you guys...
One other thing - NO, he wasn't a magician and YES, he really did put the balls in his mouth

or u can sue him for how much the 2 spongeballs cost

if you have ever studied restaurant magic...you will know not to do magic to drunk people!

I sized up the table before I approched and they all appeared to behaving normally. It was only after this guy ate my Sponge Balls that I realised he may be under the affluence oF incahol.

OKAY GUYS LAST CHANCE TO POST SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO REACT TO THIS SITUATION, I WILL POST MY 'WHAT I DID' IN A COUPLE OF HOURS....

i would say " wow u can make things disapear too!" (very sarcasticly)

and then go over to another table

yeah, u should take it as a joke, then u can keep on doing ur routine. i would definetly go with the 2nd post by tocatcher2 and not with he's first one
u need to take it as humor, if u call the manager or somethin because of it, he might kick u out of ur job. only for the reason the the custemer is always right...
anyhow, here r some things u can say:
"here's the real magician!!!"
tell him quietly:"u gotta teach me how u did that later"
"u should of orderd the sponge balls meal, i see u seem to like it a lot"

just a few ideas... hope this helps a bit for next time, can't wait to hear what u did!!!

I don't think I've ever heard such a crazy story. To be honest with you, I would probably just keel over laughing.

Well I my first reaction was to say "Hey the restaurant's upstairs..." but I thought he must be doing it to get a reaction from me. So I didn't blink an eye. I turned to the rest of the table and went straight into a card trick and then a rubberband routine. This gave me time to think, what the edited I was gonna do about the sponge balls. It also gave the guy time to do something about the sponge balls too. I must admit I was a bit phased by it and it was obvious the rest of my table were too. I guess it wasn't my best performance. Anyway while I'm performing the guy gets his mate to hold his hand out and he spits two beer sodden balls into his poor mates hand, who then had to squeeze out all the beer into an ashtray. When I finished the effect I was doing the guys mate sheepishly hands back my two sponge balls. Like all the table are looking dead emabarrased as I pick up the balls by my fingertips. I tell them to enjoy their time at (name of restaurant) and leave to go to the restroom to wash my sponges.

that has got to be the funniest thing I have ever heard next to to one where Magic_Roy said to the girl to lick his hot rod.

It would be pretty good if you had two more sponge balls hidden in your palms, then you pull them from his ears, or from the inside of his mouth. \


"Here, let me fix that for you." Pull them from his mouth after some fishing around.

WOW! That's pretty darn hungry if you ask me. Either that or darn curious. I guess it would just pay to carry extras and play that off humorously. That's where your real performing skills come in.
