You must be hired. If you are not (or do not have permission) that counts as soliciting and trespassing.

Hired OR get permission, that is. If you don't get hired you're just asking to get kicked out and possibly get a fine of some sort. If you don't think the management would wanna hire you but you're willing to just go and do it anyway there's no reason why you can't go and do it just for tips, just make sure you ask permission. If that's your thing.

i was wondering about that in a diffrent kind of way.
lets say i want to impress the restaurant manager, so i first start doing magic to the weitress (dunno how to spell it), then let say i tell her to call the manager and that i wanna show him a couple of things.
now, my question is, what if the manager gets pissed for me making a croud or somethin like that in he's restaurant? can he call the police or somethin? coz what i did was also against the law (i think...)
plz replay
oh and mmdrk, i think u were also wondering about that...

well doin magic to the waitress shouldnt draw a huge crowd, because the entertainment is centered around ur table(unless u make it a point to draw a crowd)

i think it would be a good idea, especially on a less busy night, so the manager could possibly come talk to u... only thing, i work in a restaurant, and i dont think the manager would come out(maybe if the waitress said great things about u, but still, i doubt it)... best thing is to approach the manager directly...

i will know all soon... i have Pace's handbook on the way...

i'll tell u why, because i do real restaurant work(non-magic)...

the crowd gets in the way, which is bad enough when ur tryin to go take an order or go wipe a table, but when u r carryin a load of heavy plates and glasses, its quite frustrating when theres a big crowd in the way and there is nowhere to go(while ur arms slowly give out)

also, like it or not, most restaurants want u in and out... get ur food, eat it, and leave... they dont want ppl lingerin around because other ppl r waitin to be sat... so drawin a crowd is extending the "wait" time for everyone else seated outside on the patio, starvin to death...

prolly more reasons, but those r the first that come to mind...
