This may have been posted earlier, but I have a gig in about a month. It is a dinner party for a bunch of 10 year olds and their parents. So I basically need suggestions for strong effects that would be catagorized as a Kids Show/Table Hopping Effects. But please limit these suggestions to items that they only sell at penguin. Thanks for all the help.

You will definately want to have some strong spongeball magic, and variety's of it. What effects/tricks do you already have-I can make a better and more insightful judgement if I know what you already have and what you are already thinking of performing for that night.

hm, from what u have u should do:

Color Monte
Stealth Pen
Stop Light Cards
The Raven
Cardtoon 1 and 2 (the one you like best)
Stealing Pips (maybe just a few visual effects from this... kids like visual stuff and short stuff)
D'Lites

i think that bascilly u should do any short/visual trick that u have. try to avoid card magic... maybe u should also do NFW, but i'm not sure...
i'm also not sure if kids would enjoy coin magic... so about the Stealth Pen, i would probably do it threw a peice of paper or somethin like that.
i'm also not sure about the raven, it's visuval, but i think that if u do it, then u should only do it with stuff other then coins. coz u probably won't be borrowing coins from small kids, so they would think ur coins r gaffed if their from ur pocket...
D'Lites would be cool for kids, they would love it in my opinion.

about other stuff that i think u should get:

Sponge Balls
Cups and Balls
Vaneshing Handkerchief
Magic Coloring Book
Peanut butter and Jelly illusion (they would love this one)

for conclusion, anything short and visual or just visual would be good for kids... maybe even do 1 of the matrix's that r out there... just hit the search button for matrix, and see what u come up with. it's very visual. i personally offer u to get 4 dvd's-On the Loose with Bill Malone. i just love them so much. he has some tricks that can be done for kids, coz their very visual.

good luck at ur shows!!!

Tomer

I would generate a character that you will be. (We are actors playing the part of magicians). Think about what he would use. Come up with your style. If you are a hustler type, 3 card monte and other card tricks of the sort would be PERFECT (you may even get some money from the spectators).

Hope this makes sense.

I've got my style. I'm not counting on being paid. I can't use any open flame so that gets rid of Pyro Perception. I just bought Club Sandwich and kid tested it and it gets great reactions. I don't want to do PB&J Illusion because this is like a table hopping/Kids show. I don't have a stage. I'd hate to carry that around. I'm a street magician. I like to have tricks that can fit inside my pockets.
