I am going to the 8th Grade Dance next week. Are there any tricks that i should get that would be good. something that wouldnt take too long to learn becasue i dont have much time. i want some thing that will blow other students away. maybe a cion trick. im not sure. please respond!maybe something that i could use for a little bit of comedy? and also something small that i could keep in my pocket. thanks

Dlites, if the lighting is low
Lethal tender
Boa coin bender
floating dollar bill/hummingbrid card, works great with low lighting
Throw Vansih, very visual and easy to do
Bite out coin
Dime and Penny/scotch and soda

Those all fit the conditions for a dance, and are what my friend used at another dance.

Ok. I am an eighth grade teacher who has done eighth grade dances. Not the nice ones held at night, with the pretty ribbons, but the hot, humid, smelly affairs, with a throbbing rap beat, held during the last period of the day. My suggestion is that you do the tricks that you already know how to do.

Anyway, I usually do a full cups and balls routine, sponge balls, and a lot of card tricks. The noise is a problem, since I just set up in the back somewhere and do it during the dance, and the humidity is a problem, but you can really learn about audience management when you deal with a pile of 12-14 year olds completely surrounding you. I lean towards on cards: Dayley's Last Trick, Color Monte, Twins, Jumping Gemini, various versions of Triumph, That's It, Whack the Pack, Las Vegas Leaper, Card Warp, Bizzar Twist, etc. Mostly quick and easy to follow (although Twins is not easy with the noise.)

Try to get some effects that don't require alot of talking, because most likely they won't be able to hear you. At least if the dances are anything like the ones I used to go to.

I dont like doing bite out quarters in crowded areas. some times i bring it to school and have a maximum risk of exposure. usually some one will be behind you or something and be like hey i saw how you did that and then theyll tell the person your doing the trick for.

D'lite is perfecto for that situation!!!!!@

YO tyler i have 2 tricks that take like 1 day to learn both more like 2 hours.
