Leaving Home

For those of you who perform this effect in a restaurant how do you start it.
Do you pull the key off your neck and go in to it. Do you have someone tie the key on to the string or do you, as Jay does, wait for someone to ask about it?

Basically, do you incorporate it into your routine or leave it until someone asks making it an impromptu effect?

Waiting for is the best way to go. It's always better that way as it seems 100 impromtu to the audience which will never happen in a restaurant. However, doent hesitate to just bring it out and present it. It is a strong enough effect to be dealt either way.

it is very goodm but leaving home shouldn't be a ID

I usually wait for someone to ask about it. Sometimes if they dont ask about it I move over to them and have them pick a card, when moving over towards them I exagerate the movement so that the key swings in their faces or pokes them in the eyeballs or hits their card. That usually pisses them off so they ask about it, then once Ive performed it they laugh, cry or they yell.

I think it would be stonger if you wait until they ask because then it is unprovoked. They think "oh, then there is no way that he could be prepared for it"

well, i'm not so sure u should wait... when u perform in restaurants, the people u perform for don't know u, so they won't be asking u questions about a key around ur neck...

well, maybe that's just me,
