if you dont charge to work at the restaurant, youre taking away the opprtunity of a magician who does and is trying to make a decent living out of it, so out of respect for other magicians, you should charge. and for the kid who gets 5.50 an hour, thats just ridiculous. you can get more in tips if you do a 10 min act on the street.

I know its ridiculous. 5.50 an hour? Some penguin newcomers who are interested in doing restaurant walkaround need to realize that being a magician seriously is one that laymen will be attracted into by. Restaurants will gain a ton of profit from it and charging at least $100 an hour shouldn't be a problem when they know the benefits.

im 16 and my tennis club asked me to do walkaround a their open day. i usually do private parties.

i charged £50 (approx. $100) an hour and they were getting a very good deal.
