It is less common in England. You could set the bar so to speak. Charge what you are worth and make the restaurant believe that.

I have recently done a gig for Free Maisons in England (tough crowd).
For this i charged £50, which the owner agreed to. At the end of the gig i ended up with £90 from tips and some extra money that the owner gave me. So basicaly if you have done restraunt magic for a while then charge your rates at about £40 to start of with, and if your magic is good and strong by the end of the night you could be coming back with double that.

Good luck

Ros :D

Sounds like good value for money!

that is walkaround magic at the reception, and parlour style effects for each individual table, between courses.

o rite kool , I do that as well sometimes but mainly do restaurant work, I did a trade show the other week and a wedding on saturday but still did not charge £225

btw this is a topic on how much to charge for restaurant work and your saying you get that much for private and cooperate events so that has nothing to do with restaurant work, soz I got a little confused  8)
