I use a wisecrack kinda like Indy's, but I say "At no point during this trick will my fingers leave my hands." Keeps it a little more close-up. Also, at the end of a trick, say with a smile, "I have no idea how I did that." That'll get a laugh out of some people.

usually when I'm done with a trick, they ask me how I did that. I usually say, I think I did that very well.

Yeah, if they ask how you do something say something like:

"You know? I have NO idea!!!"

"Obviously quite well....."

Or like Greg wilson says on recap, :"It's when I tap it!!!"

So come up with something stupid...I usually do and people stop asking...like the suns flares are liked up just right...or that they were thinking too hard, or something else they will never believe...

One line that I like to use is when people ask me a question I don't want to answer. For example "how did you do that"? I say “that's a good question” and quickly move on to the next trick. It gets various amounts of laughs from different crowds. But try not to sound mean or else you might have to use some real smooth talking to get yourself out of trouble.

IMHO, I think that saying "Very well, thanks," or words to that effect are rather too cocky for my style. I feel that they are the sort of words that elevate the magician above the audience, which is not a good thing to do. I think that the funniest response to a "How did you do that?" is to merely say: "Do what?" or some other silly comment like: "Dunno. I wasn't watching."

Don't you guys realize that if you continue to talk during reactions you are seriously a bad performer. That's like the #1 rule. Come on. Just shut up, let them react and listen.

Talking = Less Reaction.
