What would you do if an audience member knows what you did and says it out loud to explain to everbody to make him or her look smart?

Also what would you do if sombody is guessing the method of your trick and he or she is wrong but they think they're right. Example: "You just switch that card with the one in your hand when we weren't looking!" Because if you say no they usually won't believe you.

Basically these 2 situation take away the aplause and "wows" and it makes every thing less impressive. And these audience type do it for almost all the tricks. So any help would be awsome thanks.

*please dont get mad at me if this is already a topic*

This is already a topic of many threads. There are many ideas already, if you search a little.

It depends on your style. I know some magicians who would tell the person to shut the edited up, and then call them some derogatory name, while saying it's their show. And they can get away with it. Jerry Sadowitz had a show called Total Abuse, and he constantly insulted people. However, he got away with it because of his style. Gazzo also insults people, and he gets away with it. It's their personalities though.

I'm usually sarcastic when someone tries to call me out. I will say things like, "Oh, we have a genius in the audience," or "SMDMF" which usually gets the response of, "What the edited?" And I give them some stupid answer and go on with the show.

No matter when I perform, there is always a heckler out there waiting for me.... I guess its just my luck, but thats the way I like it.

What i usually do is pull out the heavy artillery (not really heavy artillery, but just simply in your face magic) and either call them up on the stage or walk up to them and do the tricks right there in their face... (i usually do this with a deck of cards or a stage ring and such) They don't know what is going on and I usually get the biggest applause from the audience for putting this person in their place, shutting them up, and also for releasing some great effects. But, thats just my style. I've also had people come up on to the stage only for me to take their sit and tell them to perform for everyone (usually the trick they tried to guess). Again, my style.

Hope this helps someone.

I got these:

My friend was doing TT silk vanish he did it. Then when he sat, he accidently dropped TT with silk in TT

spec: '' there where a cup where you putted it!!''

Me : ''But how he vanish the cup and silk?''

spec: ''He... putted to the sleeve!!''

This guy is kinda silly he look the tricks and say everything...

My friend was performing levitating match on a card and he was waving hes hand over the match and card:

same spec: '' well... U wire it!''

I was performing messiah vahish and at the vanish, I blow to the my fist

again same spec: '' well u just putted it to your mouth... show your mouth
empty!!''

basically u dont have to agree with the specs assumptions... u can simply say " that might work too" and stress to the audience how hard it can be to do the things that we do.. For example if they said we switched the card in the hand while they werent looking ... by common sense , what we actually do is much more easier than what they say some of the times ofcourse...

Basically people who say they know your trick they really dont
And if they do see how it works you either did it bad
or it was a corny trick
Just ignore them and go on with the show if they say how to do the trick out loud just ignore them as if they were wrong dont agrue because people will think he guessed right and thats y your getting upset
=D

I think my favorite line for when people try and guess the method, or say they know how it's done, is "You're just mad because the voices talk to me."

All i say is, even if there wrong say "ok lets see you do the trick now your the magician", then most likely they will be embarrassed and ether shut up or walk away. But i usually dont have heckler problems or method guessing alought maybe once and awhile

I don't normally like to be that rude to them. I have only used that line once, and that was when I had a very bad heckler at school. I would never say that to an adult, though.

The couple of times I've had people call me on method I've usually said "now why didn't I think of that, much easier than what I've been doing".

I have my standard answer for when people ask me how I do things, I always think about it, look puzzled and end up admitting "I've no idea. It just happens." Which works for me.

i just say "you, come here and perform you want some attention youve got it" they will either walk away feeling stupid or come up looking even stupider with a deck of cards in their hand.

When someone says, "I know how you did that!" Hand them a dollar.

Go ahead. Ask me why.

I dare you.............
