Just smile, and move on to the next trick.

I like to just smile at them and say...well is it cool if I show you something else? This leads me on to my next trick.

This is a nice topic, but there are too many repeating posts.
Please read through the thread to see if your response has already been posted.

How about, "I froze time, did the secret move, and then unfroze time."

LOL. That's a little bit more farfetched than the average answer, but I suppose it would work. Ever seen the movie clockstoppers? It was really dumb, but the idea of the watch was interesting.

HOW TO ANSWER "HOW'D YOU DO THAT?"
"Quite well, don't you think?"
"If I told you, I'd have to kill you."
"I'm a genetic freak."
"The question isn't HOW, it's WHY?"
"What are you, from 60 Minutes?"
"Pure Luck"
"Can you keep a secret? Well, so can I."
"Witchcraft. Didn't you see me wiggle my nose?"
"Through years of tedious practice and self-denial."
"What do I look like-the Masked Magician?"
"Camera tricks."

WHAT TO SAY WHEN YOU MESS UP
"I forgot to compensate for the rotational effect of the Earth."
"Hmmm. It worked in the magic shop!"
"It's all part of the show, folks- the part that hasn't been rehearsed."
"That's the first time that ever happened again."
"It doesn't look as bad from my side."
"I'm curious to see hoe I get out of this myself!"
"Wow, it's so quiet in here, you could almost hear a career drop."[/u]

Haha, these one-liners are hilarious... I think I was rolling on the ground laughing for several minutes...

I really like the last one you put down... "Wow, it's so quiet in here, you could almost hear a career drop..."

Hahahahahah...

moving on is the best way to avoid answering this question, in my opinion, or even a nice smile. i do have one remark, though.

"see, it's misdirection. in the time it takes me to tell you this, i've loaded 3 elephants into your locker (or lunch bag or shirt or whatever, depending on your location), 3 decks of cards in my sleeve, and still had time to sit down for a nice cup of tea."

usually people who jokingly say that move on, but if the member persists, either move on or stop, depends on your mood.
