Hi guys, some of you might know this one liner but I thought of it 2 days ago so yer, when you ask the spectator to hold their hand out then you say "no, the one with 5 fingers" it always gets a laugh for me, if any of you guys do use that liner, can you reply and say what the funniest/weirdest reaction you have had is?

It's alright, but you've got to make sure they're not an amputee and aren't missing a finger.

better yet they have 6 fingers

I sometimes say, "No, the clean one," and they always put up the other hand. Can be really funny, especially if you follow up with, "Never mind, the first one was fine."

Honestly im really into comedy. I always mix comedy and magic I write my owwn stuff and I do stand up comedy on weekends how ever I really dont get the oneliner in the first post.

if you absolutely must have some type of line for their hand when they place it out i'd delve into palmistry because it's a hobby of mine. i'd do a quick cold reading through reading their hand, either it would be a true and serious reading or i'd joke or tease them. palmistry can be a good segway to a mentalism routine.

On the palm-reading note, a line I've never used but I thought was quite funny was: "Wow, that's a great lifeline! Too bad it's on the wrong hand, but nevertheless, a great lifeline!" I heard it on Simon Lovell's Methods Behind the Madness DVD.

It's a line to say to the spectator. Let's say, like all spectators say,
"Do that again!"
after you've completed an effect. Well a one-liner for that could be,
"Uuh. My magic ran out. Sorry!"

Umm...no. That's an "out." A one-liner is a joke with one line, hence the name (Don't you just love to say hence?). It doesn't need to be magic related. Here's an example, which is magic related:

One mind-reader said to the other, "You're fine, how am I?"

One line, hence the name one-liner.
