Sometimes I just say "Pretty cool, huh?" Or I will steal a Paul Harris line, "Its an optical illussion". But usually I just smile and say nothing. If I am finished with that spectator, I just leave with the smile, and If I have more to do, I say "want to see something better?"

I usually tell the spectator what is causing the magic to happen. For instance, a magical move, word or whatever. If they still ask, I'll say "did you like it? You'll love this one!"

I will simply say, 'thank you, I take that as a compliment.' and move on to the next effect. short and sweet, makes the spectator feel good, and keeps them off balance because it wasn't an answer they would expect.

I learn't this one from Dan Harlan, who I think is the best magician alive now. When someone asks, "how does that work?" or "How did you do that?" I say, "Well, I personally think I did it very well, Lets see if I'm on a streek." Then I'll do some more tricks.

When asked that question, i say "with the utmost care and grace". i like to say that because peopl around here are dumb amd they have to ponder on it a bit. itas kind of cool.
