This post was Actually the best I have Read for a very long time on Penuins Forum.

The Advice given, is very good. You should learn from it.
It will come in handy for most of the users here, including me.

But for some effects( with cards anyway) you need to proclaim what and why you are doing what you are doing. It can ( if done properly) Enhance the effect.
And yes, you should stay far, far away from lines like "Now I will Shuffle my Completely Normal deck of cards".

Good Hunting

I let the spectator shuffle the deck and then give it back to me.

I get them to breack eye contact from my hand by talking to them about the trick whil I secretly make a crimp on the bottom card. THen have them pick a card and put it back in the deck (hindu shuffle or cut it off either one) Then you know where their card is the whole time and since the spectator has shuffled the cards, they think that there is no control whatsoever.
