I was wondering what you do when someones asks, "Can you show me that one you did a couple days ago where..." and you don't have that trick with you. For example a few weeks ago, I did Hover Card for some people, and a few days later they came up to me and asked me if I could show them the trick I did, when I didn't have it. Anything gimmicked, like if I have a normal deck of cards and they want me to do Stripper Deck or Svengali. Because of course I can't say, "Oh, sorry, I don't have that with me."

Thanks :D

Kgmagic makes an excellent point. However, you stated that you used both the Stripper and Svengali decks. My advice would be to pick up either a book (Royal Road to Card Magic) or DVD (Born to Perform) and learn some tricks using a regular deck that way your not put on the spot like that again.

Actually if you're a person like me who's just about always sarcastic, in fact, so sarcastic that people usually can't tell the difference whether I'm joking or not.... So I can actually say: "Sorry, I don't have the (insert something stupid here like magnet, electromagnetic field disabler, particle acclerator, or ionic disruptor) with my right now so I can't do the trick."

That is the thing I dont like about gimmicks, sure they get good reactions and some are easy to do, but what if you forget it? Then you are screwed, you have to make up some excuse why you cant do it. I did hummer card a couple of weeks ago, then someone asked me to do it again, and I forgot my IT so I had to make up a excuse. They knew that it was something special I needed and said "ha ha you need somethign special to do it" I didn't mind them saying that, I was just kind of upset. So I do all impromptu card or coin or whatever tricks now. It is much better, and you wont have to make up a excuse of why you cant do it.

I would say, I dont like that one much, This is one I really like, here watch this. And take out your cards and do another trick.

Matt
