What should you do when you ditch a gimmick(lets say you ditch it in your pocket) and someone says, "turn your pockets inside out." Then when you do, and try to ditch the gimmick they say, "lets see your hands" How could you stop this from starting while being polite and acting like you got nothing to hide.

well.. if it's a guy.. reach in your pockets.. and pull them out.. putting the gimmick in your hands.. then when you put your pockets back in.. but the gimmick back in.. and show them your hands..

and now if it's a hot girl.. palm it.. and tell HER to reach in there and feel around in it..

Ditch while looking to their eyes and talking.

Use both hands to reach into your pockets. Whatever is in them, palm it and then pull the pockets out by the bottom tips. Then, when you pull your hands out, keep the bottom of the pockets clenched between your index finger and your thumb. Quickly, and without saying anything put your hands back in your pocket and drop the gimmick back in.

Then, don't offer to show your hands, wait until they ask you to turn them over.

After you finish the trick, if the gimmick is small, touch your leg to your thighs and act like you are scratching your ankle. At the same time, slip the gimmick into your shoe or sock. If it is big, wear long pant with a pocket at the bottom, do the same thing, and ditch the gimmick there.

dont use gimmicks

I'm sure there'd be a market for special magician's trousers (pants) with secret bottoms in the pockets, or other compartments, which can just be done up with velcro. Any gimmicks put in the pockets will fall to the bottom of the trousers in the lining and can be retreived by opening another secret velcro compartment somewhere down the trouser leg.

I might just try and construct some of these from a regular pair of trousers and see if it works.

I know a site (can't give link tho...sry) that sells table cloths for like a stage or closep act that have a lil ditch pocket on the edge that faces you, so all u do is drop it and the lil net thing catches it and you see or hear nothing, then when your done with the act you can just roll it up and they will never know...
