What do you say if someone askes you if you can levitate and you cant do it very well or for some reason you dont want to or cant?

You say no.

You can always joke around by flapping your arms and jumping, and say, sorry, the alignment of the Earth to the sun isn't correct right now and that keeps me from levitating because the gravity of the sun isn't strong enough to lift me off the ground... or if you take physics, you can be really annoying and do calculations about the earth going around the sun...

There are several ways of trying to weasel your way out of this:

- "No, Can you?"
- "Sorry. The battery's run out."
- "Yes I can levitate - I can levitate... this dollar bill!" (Perform 'Floating Dollar Bill')
- "Sorry I can't hear you. Did you say 'Leave at eight'? I'll leave now if you like."
- "What? You mean this?" (Perform 'Balducci Levitation', which can be found on the internet)
- "Yes." (Shell out $99 and buy a professional levitation trick and do that.)

I made most of these up from the top of my head. Obviously the last one would be the most impressive response but, unfortunately, it costs the most.

Circumstances often prevent me from doing any of the levitations that I know (Balducci, King Rising, Pocket Levitator), because I am very particular about when I will perform these effects. It gives them a real air of mystery, and has generated a lot more interest from those lucky few who get to see it happen.

If the circumstances aren't right, the conversation will usually go like this:

- Can you levitate?

- Well, I used to, but I'm told it can make you go blind.

Works for me. Naturally, you have to gauge your audience to determine if this is appropriate; or within the range of their comedic faculties.

If pressed, I will make more serious-sounding excuses, talking about being a bit drained; needing to relax and meditate before undertaking such a feat; not being in the right head-space.

It depends on whether you perform levitation as some sort of stunt, or whether you dress it up as a genuine psychokinetic phenomenon. In my experience, the former sets its self up for challenge/exposure. The latter sets itself up to provide genuine astonishment, or sometimes even fear and shock.

The one that works for me is......Yea can i borrow some wires and to 20$ bucks to pay that wizard who casts spells on people? Don't use this one on unintelligent people though. They won't get it. If you think someone may be stupid jjust say....No can you?
