This happened recently when I was performing Ultimate 3 Card Monte for my family. Now, they are very sceptical, but after seeing my tricks for a while (like, over the course of the time I've been doing magic), they really take me seriously. Any time any distant family member comes I have to perform the tricks my family likes for them.

So, anyway, U3CM is one of these tricks. However, I hadn't performed it in a while, so I accidentally showed the gaff part way through. Not only did I reveal it, but I SHOWED it (for those that own the trick, you'll know what I mean). I thought that I was stopped, but I treated it as if I had added a new phase to the trick, where I "changed" it into a trick card as a joke. Nobody has yet to bug me about it, so either they're incredibly polite (which they aren't), they forgot, or my plan worked. Anyway, I just remember that. Of course, I make myself look better when I talk, but I'm biased...

Wow close call their, just make sure you practice all your trick before you perform.

I had mastered the trick completely. There was a point in time where it was one of my favorites. However, I hadn't had anyone new to perform it for in a while, and hadn't done it. For my next performance, this one, I used it. I hadn't practiced that one, which I had mastered, in a little bit, and all it took was a little mistake.

I feel you man, but if I have some family members coming over (and 3 card monte is my favorite to use as well), I ALWAYS refresh my memory and quickly go through the moves before I show them. I sneak away into the bathroom or go to my room to grab some tricks, etc.

But lucky save...

Yeah, when I'm about to walk out and do some street magic, I'd go through every trick I'm taking out with me.
