Hi. I am interested to learn the linking rings effect but i have a big concern. What if the spectator want to check my rings?

I suppose the spectators are less intended to check them if it is a stage performance when they are on the spot. But what about a close up for parlor performance like Ninja Rings? What should I say/ do if they want to check the rings?

First say "Dude these are special silver-plated rings. They are too valuable to be touched."


If they insist, then do linking rings, and allow them just to tug on the bottom ring.


If they still insist, I'd usually say to attack them, but in this case tossing the rings (non-gimmicked) at them would be more efficient.

You need to be in control of the audience, not the other way around. Just simply say, "I'd prefer you not handle them, thank you." Just say it politely and they usually get the point. Then just put the rings away and move on to the next trick. When there is more than one spectator and you are beginning to move on, the others will generally tell the one jerk that is making noises to shut up so they can all enjoy the rest of the show. If that person continues to fuss, simply thank the rest of the table and move on. You just need to stay in control and stay calm.

I've heard of some performers that hand the rings out before the perform them. One guy actually handed out the key ring by mistake. When someone pointed out the gaff, he said "Oh, it broke" walked off stage and came back with the same ring. It's a nice out if you ever get caught.

say "dude only only magicians can touch these rings. if someone else does they'll be hunted down by the fbi"
