What do you do/say when you do a coin routine and vanish/bend the coin in the end and the spectator says "I want my coin back!"? I did a routine once with a borrowed coin and I ended it by using the M5 PK System and the spectator got a little angry when I began to walk away with their money. Somebody help!

No one has asked to have an unbent quarter after I do a bend. If you switch it out to vanish it, give them the original back.

Don Alan had a great routine for this sort of thing, the coin is borrowed used for a trick, vanished and used later in another effect when the spectator gets it back. I learned that from the Great Magic Video Library, they had an entire video on him, now released on DVD something that should be in just about every close up magicians Library. (as well as the new book on him)

Another thing you could do also is just make the giving back of the quarter or which ever coin you use part of the routine.

When I do the revolution coin vanish for instance I borrow a quarter (I already have one in my shirt pocket.) I vanish the coin, pretend I am passing the quarter from hand to hand a few times and then I throw the (invisible) quarter into the air, pull my shirt pocket open and act like I am watching it drop into the pocket. Showing my hands empty, reach in with my thumb and index finger, pull out the quarter and give it a flip in the air, catch it and let it slide onto a table or simply hand it back to the person I borrowed it from.

None of the complaining and all of the amazing.

CoS.

As was stated earlier, get the Don Alan DVD. He explains why he waits before giving the quarter back. It can also help to build a crowd, because the guy who loaned you the quarter probably isn't going anywhere, until you give it back.

Why don't you just make another quarter appear? that wasy you get another, easy trick in, and they get their quarter! Unless you've dropped it or destroyed it, i guess it depends on what trick you've done
