I work at an elementary school and often do magic tricks for the kids. Recently, there is one bratty student who would yell out "Hey, make me disappear!" whenever he sees me. I ignore him most of the time but he would say to his group of friends "See, he doesn't know real magic." Does anyone know a way to fulfill his wish, short of kidnapping him of course.

I don't know how to do it, but I found a trick called bisection here on Penguin where you supposedly vanish the lower half of your body. Maybe it'll work on that kid.

I hate brats like those. Take him aside and treat him to a half-nelson and tell em he'd better shut up about your powers or he's gonna go to edited.

It vanishes the upper half of your body. It cannot be done on a spectator. Anyways, here's a good one liner for this situation, "I could make you disappear...brining you back however might be a problem"

I teach at a school too (don't know if you are a teacher.) When I started in magic, I showed it all the time. Now I rarely show magic. I got tired of having all of the requests to perform on command. It was flattering, but tiring.

If it isn't someone that is yelling show me a trick, it is someone asking if I can make them disapear. But in your case, it sounds like disrespect to me. Since I get that at my school, too, I would just stare at the kid calmly and then walk away. Students discover very quickly that I never perform when I don't feel like it, never for someone rude, and never when work should be done. Since my kids are older, they may not really believe that I have powers. If they ask something like this to me, I might quip, "I am not God. I can't do everything you know." But I would probably just say nothing or sorry, don't feel like doing it today.

Your kids may really believe. I personally would never encourage that. You don't know how weird some parents are about witchcraft. But ignore the rude one or get him off to the side and turn it into a discipline matter. Explain, "I do not perform when asked, I perform when I am ready. Your comments are rude, and if you continue I will call your parents."

Trust me, though, calling parents when a kid heckles gets weird. "Yea, little Billy is making fun of my magic tricks I show at school." That is awkward coming from a teacher. But you can explain to the parents that you show a few tricks now and then for good behavior and now their kid is getting rude about it during school hours. "School", you explain, "is about learning, not magic. Please talk to your child."

thats nice, but i don't think kids know what hitmen are.

i'd probably tell the kid to run while whispering to him, saying that "if you run out of the room and pretend to disappear i'll pay you 10 dollars." then lock the door on him
