Here is what I'm thinking about doing for my 30 minute magic routine:

Start off with Mouth Coils to get their attention
D'lite routine
Cups and Balls
Sponge Balls
Peanut Butter and Jelly Illusion
Needle Through Balloon
Swallowing a Balloon

And then I will do about 15 minutes of balloon animals for the kids. Any feedback would be great.

P.S. I am planning on getting a break-away wand. Do you have any opinions on that gag?

Ben is right NO for swallowing balloons, if you do it then the kids will try to.

Other than that, you have a 30 minute show but you have enough effects for a good hour show. In my street show I do the cups and balls, that alone takes between 20 to 35 minutes. I don't do it in kids shows at all.

I don't like the mouth coils at all but some people use them in kids shows so that's just me. The needle thru balloon is good and should take you at least 5 minutes. Sponge balls can be drawn out for a good long while. The same for D'lites and the peanut butter and jelly can last between 7 and 10 minutes.

Remember it is not the tricks in the show, it is the showmanship in the tricks. Make them interesting and entertaining. I'm nowhere as good as Tabary but I can do a good 20 minute rope routine and not lose a kid to inattention.

this is a good gag but not worth it at all u can see the lines on where it will fall apart and as soon as it breaks in the persons hand u can't bring it back because it takes like 20 seconds and u have to look at it if u can find it for a lower price like 5.00 or 4.00 then get it

Yes, you have plenty of material, probably more than you really need.

Paddy already explained that.

What is your experience? Give us an idea what you've done to prepare yourself for kid shows. What books, DVD's or conventions have you attended.

First off, swallowing a balloon isn't good. My sister saw a magician do it at a party when she was little, and he remember he trying it. Kids will imitate you.

We can't really judge your routine by JUST seeing the tricks you're doing. We have no idea what bits of comedy byplay you're using, what your presentation is, or what the theme of the show is.

I suggest you look at the essay I posted about routining kid's shows.
