It depends on the effect... but always say no. For the STS I say, "Well it's already tied, why would I do it again?" And if it's say, the Stealth Pen, I'll say "I just showed it to you twice." Like I said before, it just depends on the effect.

I am quite sure this has been addressed many times before. Search around. And just dont give them a chance to ask, and you dont have to answer them. But still search around.

Laugh at them and tell them they are stupid for not catching it the first time.

Seriously though, you should not give them the chance to want to see it again. You should have entertained them instead of tricking them, that way they don't want to just know how its done by watching it again.

lol I think one day I might actually do a trick for someone I don't like and say that to them, it would just be too funny for me lol.

Just say whatever you need to in order to get out of doing it again, but even if you don't have anything to say you still don't have to do it again just because someone asked. Its best if you make sure you know what you're going to say next so that they won't be able to ask you to repeat the trick.

Ask "what was wrong with it the first time?"

then follow it up with "I'd better not do it again, however I will do this for you"

now do a different trick.

it truely is magic law that you never do the same trick for the same audience twice. tell them that, just say "your not supposed to do the same trick twice" then you can be sarcastic, tell them that law, then say "if i told you, the magic kingdom (a real place) would be all over me. heck, tell them that the magic kingdom will stripp you of your power (remember, your supposed to make it appear that you are performing actual magic, not tricks)

I usually just say how about we try this instead .. and then proceed immediately into another trick.

An alternative if you really feel you must do it again is to switch methods.

I do this all the time, if you have just shown them a trick using a gaffed deck, I always keep a full blank deck in my pocket so when/if they ask to examine the deck or for me to do it again, i ask them "let me see your drivers licence" while they are looking at you confused i just swap the gimmick deck with the blank deck so then I ask "did you really want to see the deck?" holding your hand over the black faces, they will say yes then you say "well, that will be pretty hard" and show them the blank deck.

thats what i always do :D

Well in my close up routine I give time for the reaction but i dont really give them time to talk to me. I will just go into my next trick. If someone does say do it agian and its a larger crowd you can just ignor them. if its a smaller crowd and they say it. say "itsnever as fun the second time" or "im not that good " in a funny way. Or sometimes if its the right trick, just do it agian

Say, "No."

Move on to the next effect.

Maintain control.

I am not trying to brag or anything, but by looking at the replies I have a feeling my suggestion is probably the best, because when you think about it, you must have control over your audience, not the other way around! so if you do say no, or let them put you under pressure, its implying to your audience that they have the drivers seat, so by using my method, it will confuse the audience for a few seconds, giving you enough to switch decks, then you can let them look at the deck, it then leaves them dumbfounded and you are still in control.

Thanks, Linc Ellusion.
