Introduce yourself first. Yeah, if you go up to someone and ask, "Hey guys, wanna see something?" People are going to think you're some weirdo. It's not a good first impression. For introduce yourself. Start chatting, then explain that you are a magician.

Approach them as a person, not a magician.

That would be bad.

Forget you're into magic, put the tricks away.

Now approach people and start conversations. Over and over and over. Learn to say something funny within the first minute, to make them relaxed that you're present.

Mastered that?

Ok now introduce magic after the funny line.

Going in completely raw makes you a weird guy with tricks. This has two huge disadvantages:

- They want to get away after the trick. You had a sole purpose, to show them a trick. They're now bored of tricks, want to return to their normal life and subsequently bored of YOU.

- You've shown ZERO personality, which makes your social value rock bottom

Approaching, saying something funny, expressing your personality makes you a fun and cool guy. Introducing magic makes you a funny, cool guy who happens to know magic.

See the difference?

If you are going to do three or four tricks for people which is usualy the number the first trick you do should have a way to start without asking if they want to see a trick like with color changing knives you come up and say did anyone loose a white knife and that's you in to starting the trick then you change it to black saying what about a black knife then the other tricks come after.

Is that why you spell your name as "borntopreform" instead of BorntoPerform?
