Not sure how to ask this w/o exposure.
I own the Brass Hot Rod.
Does anyone know if there are others available that would allow for multiple performances?
That way you could do a switch out if someone else wants to try it out...

Make sense?

I was thinking of possibly buying another one and painting diffrent colors on it....

Thanks!
Mike

Besides not being available for purchase, this Magic Makers version allows two uses, and it can't be examined that closely without discovering the gaff. It also can't be shown or handled freely during the first phase of the routine.

I'd still watch for someone who can supply Hot Rods in alternate colors and just keep a couple of them in your pocket.

Check out FAB Magic's Hot Rod Combo. Comes with two rods. One for your standard Hot Rod effect, and the other rod for a jumping gems routine. Best of all, it's very inexpensive. You can find it for prices anywhere from $10 - $15.

Great idea! Rather than repeating the trick and risking getting caught, change it up a bit with something similar.

I have those, two of my first "props" ever.
Heck I can barely remember how to use the jumping gem. As I had "mis-placed" them a few years back, and just recently found them. They are really nice, top quality. 8)

They are both great effects.

And on the topic of colors, I have seen a tir colored hot rod and a dual colored hot rod. MY old mentor has a couple of each.

I would think if your good enough and can find the right materials, you could buy a regular one, pop out the jems and glue in some new ones. :?

Thanks.
I have the Brass Hot Rod which I love. Not sure if I can "Pop" out the colors to switch them up?
I am going to see about painting it somehow.

Great effect, but can only do once since you have to "force" the correct colors.

Maybe I should come up with my own design and market it.

Any idea how to design and sell an effect/trick that has already been used. I could change it up enough to be different...

You can paint new/different/custom colors on your brass one. I did.
Just be careful of the spacing and what colors go where. You don't want to mess that up.

Precision Magic makes a quality, anodized aluminum Hot Rod and the color of the gem that changes can be customized, as well as the color of the rod itself. I accidentally left one of those in my pants pocket. It went through the washer and dryer and not one of the gems loosened up and there isn't a scratch on it. They're durable and a quality-made product and, sticking to the topic at hand, you can specify what color(s) you require in both the gem and the rod itself. You can even get a color-changing one where the color of the rod changes to match the color of the selected gem. Very nice.
