perhaps a fix of vocabulary? i thought the word busk was an open term incluseing setting up a table, putting out a tip jar, and letting peple tip whatever they please if any. sorry
I'll spell it out because I don't think this kid is sharp enough to get the answers himself.
Any idiot can do magic tricks. Do a french drop of coins or balls, use a thumb tip, whatever. It takes a magician to take the tricks and make them entertaining. That is what a busker does, and it is the only way to be a busker is to entertain. Look at Gazzo, or Kozmo on their busking DVDs. Nothing they do is hard to do, in fact every trick they use is very easy and can be done by beginners. The difference is that the beginner does the trick, Koz and Gazzo make it entertaining. The cups and balls is a 5 minute thing. Gazzo does the cups and balls and makes it last 30 to 40 minutes JUST for that one effect.
Seriously, when I am working a crowd at a local festival I use the egg bag, some rope, a thumb tip, and 3 linking rings. That's all I have, not even a table. If I can't make $100 an hour I leave. I haven't left a festival in 4 years. As I said you aren't busking you are a kid showing off some magic tricks.
