I guess so, i just wanna know what kinda tricks a street magician does... if they do card arent they just a card magician cuz david blaine does street magic with cards = card magician?

It's a fad. Or at least the type of street magician you're talking about. A real street magician, or busker, does street shows. Gazzo, Jeff Sheridan, etc, are true street magicians.

The type of magician you're talking about does close-up magic, that is basically hit and run.

Something else you have to understand, you can do more than one type of magic at a time. My stage show (stage magic) is mainly comedy magic. When I do close up magic, it's mainly cards and coins.

My busking show consists of: Egg bag, sponge balls, rope, and cups. Any good magician should be able to build that to 45 minutes in fairly short order.

When I run sidewalk shows I use the linking rings instead of cups. You can use these same effects on a stage, in parlour magic, or whatever venue you want. If I want to throw in a mentalism effect I use one die with 6 envelopes, one of which has a $20 bill in it. I always win the 20.

Nope. Street magic is also called busking. It's doing street performance, like Gazzo does. A street magician is a busker. They have basically taken a parlor show, and worked it for an audience on the street. Now, it's not the same as a parlor show, because you have to make the audience come to you, but many of the effects are used in parlor magic, or stage magic.

What you're talking about is more what magicians refer to as "Blaining." It's a fad, that really has no purpose for a professional. They aren't street magicians.

I agree this is just popular right now. Wait till Criss Angel dies out and no one will be talking about it. I try to not buy things that say STREET MAGIC anywhere on it, just because it's probably an overhyped product.

Ovecourse there are the real street performers like Gazzo and others. Blaine is a legit street magician I guess.
