Hey, I am new to penguin so I am introducing myself. I'm 15 and I wont start talking about how great and awesome I am. I wont talk about how I am just as good as the proffesionals. And yes I will use the search engine which I am familiar with because of being on other forums. Anyway I prefer close up magic. Right now I am practicing how to perform my tricks and make them think that it wasn't just a trick. I realise that 80% of the trick is showmanship. That is the hard part for me. I am open to advise on anything but mainy presentation info. I take words of advise into consideration and will not discard them.

I started a new topic because I wanted to introduce myself. Thanks

Perfect your patter. Write good introduction/distraction/ etc lines, and practice them until they become such a second nature that you can deliver them flawlessly in your sleep. The, practice some more. Then, practice working the patter into the routine and getting the timing right with the trick-patter interfaceing.

alright thanks. Would you say it is better to learn a few tricks perfectly or know a bunch alright? The latter seems best to me.

I go for the "less is more" approach. I study one single trick and look at a half dozen variations or so before finally settling on what works for me.

This may take a while. A year or two per effect is about the average for me before I'm comfortable with it.
