This is a hard one, i don't really know what to say back to this, i would usually say something along the lines of "this is my hobby" and compare it to a hobby that i know they have. A lot of you professionals wont get this considering it is your job and they know its what you do.Can any of you remember back from the old days. I mostly get this at school and it makes me feel a little awkward.

I ask them why. Seriously, that usually is a gateway for you to say something clever or at least get to where you want to with the person.

Just make a joke out of it. "Hey it's better than..."

I've never had anyone say I have too much time on my hands. Mainly because no one has to, as I say it quite a bit myself. It's more of a joke thing. I've also used lines such as, "Do you know what this is called? A lonely man." Gregory Wilson uses lines like that as well. It's something that is funny, and gets a good laugh out of people.

Well, that's an insult. So you can either ignore it, or have some come-backs. But if you can't hold your own, I don't recommend using the sports ones to jocks unless you're on a friendly basis with them.

For the females:
Is that like a pickup line?....
Would you prefer they were on you?...
Well, ever since you took out that restraining order...
Stalking you got boring......
Well, I never get invites to your slumber parties...
I wanted to make the basktball team but showering with other guys isn't my thing. Say, does your "ringette/lacrosse/volleyball/swim/other female sport" team need an extra player? Towel boy?......
I need something to do between Harry Potter book releases/ (or popular t.v. series episodes)....Whatever the "IN" thing to watch/listen/read is at the time.
I need something to do while the rest of you are reading your Harry Potter books (or other "IN" things)

For the males:
Is that like a pickup line?....
Heh. What? Are you coming on to me?....
Thanks I guess. I can give you a picture of them to hang in your locker if you want....
I was going to start smoking the cron, but everyone knows it causes impotance.....
I was going to take up sports but everyone knows it'll shrink your [edited]...
I need something to do when your girlfriend/sister/mom is busy.....
I was going to try out for your wrestling team, but sweaty males in spandex does nothing for me.....
I wanted to make the basktball team but showering with other guys isn't my thing....
