I am just getting into the cups and balls and am thinking about buying a cup set later on, but for now...

If (like me) one does not have a cups and balls set, yet still wants to perform this effect... what do you think are the best cups to use? I mean as a common household item? paper cups? Coffee mugs?

I want your ideas.

They need to be tapered to allow stacking. Preferably with a ledge that prevents jamming together. The bottom has to be recessed to keep the balls from falling off.

Some plastic coffee mugs would work. So would most plastic glasses.

I use my baby sister's colored sippy cups with my sponge balls.
