Also, the situation will be differet everytime. In a TGI Fridays, you are probably looking at the manager, but again it could sometimes be the franchise owner.

Small restaurants are almost always the ower.

You ask to speak to the person that makes the decisions regarding table side entertainment.

Austin ask the person who is in charge of making the final decision. So ask the owner. You NEVER want to try to close a deal on someone who is not the decision maker and anyone who tells you otherwise has not studied any type of persuasion. I've been doing restaurants for over 7 years and the only time you will talk to the owner is if it is a smaller local restaurant but the restaurants like Old Chicago require other tactics. You have to talk to the GM (General Manager) because s/he will make the final decision to hire you. Or you can go straight to the corporate office and send a proposal on why you fit their image, etc.

But whatever you do TALK TO THE DECISION MAKER. If you talk to anyone else then you are wasting your time

If its an opinion its different, but it can be fustrating when someone repeats what someone else has already said.

Step one is to identify the descision maker.

Do research on the establishment.
If the company franchises, then you want the local franchise owner.
If the company doesn't franchise, you want the individual location's manager.
If it's a local restaurant, you need the owner.

Call and find out who does the descision making. Sometimes owners are involved in other things and let an experienced manager handle the restaurant for them - so you never know. Call and get some info, proceed from there.

A franchise is an establishment that has multiple locations with different owners
Some times an owner will own two or three locations.
Anything else is not franchised, if a place has multiple locations, but one owner it’s not franchised
Either way good luck getting a hold of the owner.
Usually you can find the owner if it’s a one stop place (a local establishment with one location)
Always ask the manager unless the owner is on site
But how often does that work out for you?
The manager can ALWAYS find out ANYTHING you want to know

there are a large number of incompetent managers as it happens in the restaurant world. I wouldnt put half of them in charge of a paper bag, let alone a restaurant.

You have no way of knowing a restaurant is franchised or not unless you ask.

You can own 1 restaurant or more in a franchise.
