I was wondering if anyone could give their opinions about an idea I thought up:

Start doing a trick that involves a break away wand. When it breaks in their hand take it back and fix it. Do it again but this time say "I don't want to fix this again so the next time it breaks I want you to fix it. You fix it by pulling the two ends." When it still breaks in their hand take it back and say "It's not so hard all you have to do is pull the ends (at which point you fix it) but be careful not to pull it too hard because it might stretch" at which point you turn the wand into a cane.

It's a bit hard to get it to work but with enough practice I should be able to do it without the wand flying to the other side of the room :D .

Sorry I couldn't be more specific with the details but I didn't want to reveal anything and since I didn't buy my cane at Penguin I can't post it on the appearing cane forum.

Sounds good but what are you going to do with the breakaway wand?

I'm sorry I can't be more specific because it will reveal the trick but I would make the wand dissapear the same way I would make a silk dissapear like the trick is supposed to be. If you want to see what I mean watch the trailer for the trick.
