Effect: Just a quick explanation of the effect.

Price:

Teaching: How was the quality of the teaching/instructions of the effect. Was the DVD/Video good Quality. Was the Audio/Visual easy to understand.

Quality of materials(if it is a gimmik etc): Is the device/gimmik well built. or if it is something you build yourself, is it easy to build, costs too much etc.

Difficulty: What is your oppinion as a magician on the difficulty of the effect. Offer your insight on who would benefit more from the effect.

Applications: How you, or how people, can apply this efect into their routine. Good opener?, Good CLoser? good for close up workers?

I like this and will make it a sticky. I am tired of seeing a few lines thrown down, telling us how they like it and what they rate it as, yet no real description or review of the effect.
Penguinites, if you are going to review something, give some details. Some will use your review (and possibly other sources) as a gauge as to whether to purchase the effect. I think that in itself is reason to write a good review.
Now let's see how many will follow up on this and use this template!

Oh and if you are seeking a review, please put it in the appropriate sticky at the top that is where we look to see what needs to be reviewed!!!!!!

what about angles?

Angles? Maybe that could come under Difficulty?? I mean if the angles are pretty sensitive then it would be more difficult to perform, would it not?

Although I think my reviews are fine the way they are... some people really need to see this. I hate the reviews that are just paragraphs and are hard to read. Maybe it's just me, but I like the whole category thing. Thanks!

Seems as if no one is reading this sticky anymore???

I have been using the template for my tricks that I've been reviewing. I'm new to magic but I enjoy providing feedback for the tricks that I have, and I find the template to be a really good outline for a solid review!!

One more thing that could help is including a link to the product page. Or maybe I'm just lazy and don't want to have to search for them.

I have been turning the name of the effect into a hyperlink so that people can go right to the effect if they would like.

I also have replaced the "Overall Rating" part with a "In Closing" section.

I found that giving effects a numerical rating didn't seem very natural to me, because I'm generally doing research on the tricks that I buy and ALL of them to me are solid tricks that would be rated 8 or higher by myself.

With the "In Closing" section I go through some closing thoughts about why I like the trick and what I don't like, things like that. I feel it just fits a bit better.
