No problem... I'm glad to know that you keep a magic notebook. I do, and it has certainly helped me. I actually have two... one to write essays and scripting and stuff in, and then a smaller one for just random tips that I have picked up along the way.

Everyone messes up. You, me and the pros. If you never messed up you'd be a wizard not a magician.

I'm not saying that we all haven't messed up, I'm saying we should practise until its extremely unlikely.

I just show my best freind the trick a couple of times and ask if he say anything. If he did, then i work on it and show him again. My goal is to be able to have him know how i do the trick and still be able to do it without him noticing. he is the only one i show my tricks to becuz i know i can trust him. It works out great for both of us. He likes to watch my magic, and i get more live practice!

well if you mess up some trick , try find a way to make it like a joke and use that mistake for the next trick-"only for some trick through"-( for that way you can misleading them and not loss your popular) . The best thing is you may want to learn some trick that can use normal or borrow deck or card and practice it ( it usually dont give much impress like trick deck but if you know to add some mentalism it will be just great ). So if your friend want to see it again ( and for some one say they say know how it done and blah blah ) you can give them that deck to check or to try it.

I think that it is awesome that you have the guts to perform in school. It is one of the tuffest crowds you will ever perform in as it is a mix of your friends and hecklers. My advice to you is to learn a simple trick (biddle trick, ambitious card, both available in Born to Perform) and just have at it. If you can do an amazing trick with an ordinary deck, you will blow people away. I try my hardest to stay away from gaffs and gimicks because if someone does want to explore and heckle, the option is open for a full inspection while you end up clean.

One thing I've learnt when performing in schools (I used to do assemblies and lunch clubs etc) and people dont really bother when you mess up. The only thing is that if you mess up dont make a big thing of it, just move on. Its the best thing to do. If you want to make a laugh out of it but dont go over the top just keep on going.

Finally remember, you're only in school. it doesnt matter if you mess up once in a while just keep and learn from your mistakes - easiest things to do.

Oh and practice, practice, practice

the answer: Pretend not to hear them and keep going with another trick, remember you incharge of their good time part of being good is staying in chare. i usual say ok then do another trick in place with the same patter.
Or just ignor the demand.


2) what if you mess up - only do trick you're awsome at. even Jay Sanky messes up now and again. If the trick is done well people will still love it. but you should be practicing.
