you cant be serious. If you really think this is ok please do all of us a favour and stop thinking about performing for children.

So to answer your question NO its not ok.

Even if the kids were not to try it parents would never have you back. The pen is only slightly better if the kids are old enough and you pull it out of different places to show it is a trick and your not actually placing it up your nose.

I actually had to teach a group of kids how to do the pen up nose so that they wouldn't actually cram a pen up their noses.

Yes i would like to repost my post.

Mayby not so good on the pen up the nose trick.
but i don't see any harm on the balloon.
Mayby if people still dont like the balloon as you get it half way down you can turn from your side. just to reveal it to the kids that it is a trick. but make sure you do it on purpose or the parents wont higher you back.

mayby not a good idea to do any hardcore geek magic.

How can you not see any harm in the balloon. The kids are shoving inflated latex down thheir throats. Even if it pops they will likely suffocate. Are you serious?

Shoving anything down your throat is a bad idea for kids shows. Kids will try to do what you did. There is a high chance they will try to imitate you, and then kill themselves from shoving something down their throats. And guess what? That would mean your career as a magician would basically be over. No one wants to higher a magician who was responsible for the death of a little child, because they were irresponsible, and performed an effect that clearly shouldn't have been included in a kids show.

You have to think about the audience. You can't treat kids like adults, because they aren't adults. You can't do the same magic for kids that you would for adults. There is a different mentality, and you have to take that into consideration.

Which is still a horrible idea, as I explained in my post. You don't "swallow" balloons for a kids show. It's as simple as that. Plus, if people took your advice, and exposed the effect, then it's a waste of time. Why perform it if you're just going to ruin it? It destroys all of the other magic that you have done and will do.

Mikeoo, you clearly are not an experienced magician, and id guess no older than 15, all the ideas have been tried and tested, even by the pros above that have helped you. Id also guess you have not worked with kids much. Stop digging yourself a hole.
