Yes, the original question is pretty old, but the advice is well worth bumping. Check out the Cultural Exchange videos for good material that doesn't require much verbal presentation. Check out On the Spot for things that aren't too hard to do, that are practically impromptu. Those are two of my favorite sets of videos. Robert has some great advice too. The Chop Cup is great and you can find all kinds of final loads in a bar or club. Salt shakers and shot glasses come to mind.

Anything by Jay Sankey. My favorite Bar Venue type trick is Carbon Paper by Jay. Mercuring is good, paperclipped is good, stirring silver is good, Messiah Vanish is good, About Face is good, Sweet Bread is good, Heat Therapy is good, Wrap it Up! is good, Three Times Lucky is good, Nest Egg is good, Unleaded is good, Clipped is good, everything by Jay Sankey is good. I say my top favorite Bar Tricks are Carbon Paper, Paperclipped, and Wrap It Up!.

jay sankeys work is perfect for bar magic - try and get hold of Holy Moly - possibly one of the freakiest tricks you can do!
