Does David Blaine do magic anymore or has he just reduced himself to these ridiculous stunts?

He doesn't do much magic anymore, but I'm assuming in his next special where he attempts to stay awake for 13 days there will be magic... at least I'm hoping that there is.

I'm a David Blaine fan so don't get me wrong here. I read a story about Blaine saying that he never performed magic before filming his original ABC special. The story asked an interesting question.

That could answer some of the questions dealing with why Blaine didn't build up a big list of magic specials. Because he never really wanted to be a magician. That special just happened to be a successful film project.

I believe you misread that. David Blaine has performed for Princes, celebrities, and much more. Actor's wouldn't spend as much time perfecting their DL's as well as he did. Plus he used to be a protoge of some whacked out magician, one who turned on David after he made it "BIG".

Ok. But does anyone know why Blaine stopped doing magic and switched to these boring stunts?

David Blaine still does magic. Just because he's not on TV, doesn't mean anything. Not too long ago, he was doing something with Prince (the singer). He's done magic at a couple of film festivals recently as well. He's just not doing big TV specials.

He made a living performing magic in bars, restaurants, and parties before doing his special.

I think you are looking at it wrong. He is simply showing how powerful the human mind is.

You know how many doctors said it was impossible for him to be buried alive for a week?


He still did it.

Because he took a cue from the master of publicity stunts (Houdini).

The stunts are what builds talk, excitement, and crowds.
