Approach as a person, start to make normal converstaion about weather, sports, etc, then do something unexpected...a trick. Vanish a cigarette, produce a silk, whatever, and then do something else. Follow up with something a bit different...in a restaurant, pick up a spoon and bend it with your mind. Figure out a routine, and go into it.

YOU DON'T APPROCH PEOPLE.

People approch you do an attention-getter hummingbird card, a levetation, or d'lites. Dude use your imagination. Belive me you'll get a crowd in no time.

i like to say "hello my name is gary im a magician....." (throw in some jokes) i dont want to just walk up and start talkin about anything it seems kinda weird.

or ill just not even looking at the spectator(s) do something that grabs their attention like a levitation or some kind of production

Now I know that you are a novice. You NEVER, NEVER, NEVER ask people if they want to see magic. By introducing yourself and stating that you are a magician that's exactly what you're doing.

You draw the crowd to yourself and have at least 5 to 10 people stopped and watching you before you ever start your routine.

Approach someone friendly and ask if they have a moment.

Never stop or ask anyone. Blaineing never works!!!

FlaminMagic is right on. Do the Hummer card or Hover card standing by yourself where people can see you. The ones that are interested will come to you. Then introduce yourself, get to know them, and begin your show.
