Ben,

Just as Paddy stated in your other thread, we can't write your show for you. Please do not take this the wrong way, but it looks like you are looking for shortcuts rather than doing the research and studying on your own. I do not mean that meanly in any way, just an assessment.

You need to lay out the tricks you want to use. Then, you need to develop a "storyline" for the continuity of the show. From there break down your storyline into routines with corresponding patter. That will tell you where you need to put each of the parts of your show. If one doesn't seem to work in a particular spot, move it around, change the story, change the patter.

What you are asking is something that takes all of us MONTHS to develop properly. Putting together a show is neither simple nor easy, except for maybe the most experienced of magicians, but even then there is a lot of thought that goes into it. They just have the benefit of more experience.

It sounds to me like you would really benefit from joining your local SAM or IBM youth group. They will teach you not only the magic tricks, but how to be a performer. Even after that you will need to do a lot of research on your own.

My daughter goes to both the adult and youth groups, but the majority of having to piece together just comes from working with it, a lot of reading & research, and imagination.

Don't sell yourself short or your show--- take the time to really make it a part of you and it will not only be original, it will put you in the limelight and make a future for you from repeat clients.

SAM = Society of American Magicians

The youth group is called the Society of Young Magicians and you can visit their website at: http://www.magicsym.com/

From there you should be able to find the one closest to you.

Well, speaking for our own assembly (my daughter is now an adult member but still goes to the youth group to help and perform)

Each child receives a trick at each meeting where they learn how to do it. We have some great members in our SAM assembly so they will also go and help with the kids, perform, and mentor them. Its a great atmosphere for the youth!
