Like the title says, what is the difference between a kids show and a birthday party, aside from the blatantly obvious? What should be handled differently? I bought Seriously Silly and it has great ideas, but it does not differentiate between shows and parties.

Kids shows are just that: a show for kids. Birthday Parties are just one of many reasons for a show. You could also have a Kids Show at a Wedding, Graduation Ceremony, etc. Sometimes there is no "party", just entertainment; for example a show at a school or day care. It's not a party, it's just a show for entertainment.

Seriously silly isn't the answer all to aspiring kid show performers looking for a quick fix.
It's been said numerous times...IF you want to be successful in Kid shows invest your money NOT in 'tricks' but learning material...many kinds of learning material.

Location: Everywhere, but no where
Venues:
Kid Show - Church, daycare center, schools, private residence, parks etc.
Birthday - private residence, party place on occasion.

Capacity:
Kid Show - unlimited.
Birthday - typically maxes out at 12.

Effects:
Generally the same. More visual effects are required for Kid Shows simply because they will typically have a larger audience.

Time:
Kid Show - 60min average
Birthday - 40min average

Price:
Kid Shows are more expensive (often several times the price).
