Didn't he have like 5 posts a couple weeks ago? It's always quality over quantity...

Yeah it was kinda obvious when he went on a 3-7 word sentence rampage all week, and has now slowed down after immediately entering the contests. I warned of this in the beginning when the rule was made to have a certain post count. However it is possible to have quantity and quality, but in this case I don't see that happening.

I personally think length of membership is more valid than post count, but I doubt you would get many entries due to the fast turnaround here. But you would be rewarding more deserving penguins that way than this way. I think it is pretty easy to spam to 200. It should be about 500 so that those already having 400 quality posts can enter.

Yeah, but who's to say that 400 out of someone's 500 posts are quality posts and not say 68% spam posts ? ... and who's got the time and inclination to filter through 'em to find out ?

I just use the round figure of 200 because you've got to draw the line somewhere, and at the same time not eliminate too many people so at least you'll have a decent amount of participants and give more people a chance !

Yeah I was speaking as though the member already had 400 posts without any motivation of increasing them for a contest with spam. Yeah it would be time consuming to go through them, which is why I think the whole post count rule is pointless anyway.

Again, where would one draw the line on membership joined dates though ?
There are people like us who have enough posts to attain Emperor Penguin status who have join dates say 4-5 years ago ... but there are also people who have been here just as long as we have who only have a small fraction of the amount of posts we have !
Either way ... dates joined ? ... amount of posts ? ... which way to go to make everybody happy ? ... you can't make everybody happy no matter which way you do it ! ... it comes down to choosing between several evils.
