woould the 3 shell game be good for walk around. I'm new

From everything I've read... no. The reason being it takes up too much of the customer's table space, which is not a good thing.

Another reason is that the 3 shell game is NOT for newbies. You have to be very good with your patter and with your hands.

A newbie wouldn't be doing restuarant/walkaround work though, at least I'd hope not!

I'd think it would be too intrusive to put the shells on their table and additionally they would be too hard to carry around unless you had a small briefcase with you, which would make you look like a dork.
