Just get the pole, it will pass as a straw if you paint it correctly. From the audience it really looks like a solid oak pole, so it should look like a straw if you made it out to be one. I just got mine a week ago, not hard to master at all and the reactions are great. Deffinetly pick one up, well worth the money.

No. It's not bamboo. And it doesn't look like bamboo. It's looks like it's made of oak.

Mine looks like a laminated piece of garbage. Of course I left it by the heater and the laminate warped.

Warning to all, do not let your pole get too hot......

I talked to Dan (the creator of the pole) recently and he thinks you are doing this wrong. The point of the appearing pole is to make you think, "how did that pole fit in that bag?". They really do not look at the pole but what you pull it from.

In this case you are pulling out a 8 foot straw out of something. Why? No one will look at what you are pulling the straw from, all eyes will be on that unfimilure object that you produced. A object like that screams, "I was made special for this!!!", and you do not want that.

In short, the straw will come out of the bag, it will be 8 feet, but what will be going through their mind as it happens.

As always,
Dylan

I don't think it matters much to him now Juliegel, but a good update regardless for those who possibly had a similar idea.
Kinda cool that you talked to the creator.
