Try to "read" the mind of the spectator. Jot what your getting down on a fairly sized sketching pad. Ask them what there card was, and reveal what you have written.

There are billions of ways. Ashes on arm is just one. You could write the card on your arm. You can get card tattoos. You can act like your reading their mind. You can write a prediction before they pick their card.

These suggestions barely scratches the surface. Just get creative.

Also, I reccomend learning how to do an actual force, instead of using a one way deck all the time, so you can show the cards are all different.

Here are some very easy forces to start you off: http://www.penguinmagic.com/product.php?ID=629

I think he wants to know how to reveal. Check out Dayrl's five DVD set.

Why would you need a five DVD set on how to reveal?

Believe me, it's worth it. Daryl can teach you more on how to perform than anyone else.

That is a sort of disposable title. A lot of magicians call themselves that. (I do think Dayrl earned it though.)

But you'll need to force the 4 of Clubs (I think that's the one)

Jeeze...I should "charge" for this :)

Have 2 decks 1 red...1 blue. (in boxes)

Lets say that your force deck is blue.

In the red deck reverse your force card face up in the middle of the deck.

Ask the spectator which deck to use.

Lets say they say blue...then say "fine, we will use the blue deck" and put the red deck aside, or ask the spectator to hold the red deck.

If they say red...then say "fine, please hold the red deck".

Have them pick a card from your blue force deck.

After the selection is complete, put away the blue force deck (the "heat" is off).

Now explain that you had a feeling that they would choose that card, and to prove it you reversed 1 card it the red deck !

Have them open the red deck...and smile :)

Just some thoughts...learn how to force a card..a force deck is OK..but limited and "dirty" and a "1 trick-pony".

There is an instant-download with 5 methods by OZ here at Penguin.

Also many "bacic" card books etc.

I've turned simple card forces into routines involving invisible decks, multiple spectators, and phone calls to loved ones. people want to be sucked in and entertained. Find a persona, make it entertaining, then brainstorm some routines. Then practice, perform, and refine.

Though if you know a decent deck switch, this won't be a problem.

I DO recommend learning forcing techniques with a regular deck as well, though. Save the One-Way deck for those routines that require a force, but that must appear ABSOLUTELY FAIR. In those situations, the One-Way deck is best. Otherwise, just use a regular force.
