I need a little help with this one.

Simply put, how do you end the gag of the wand "breaking"?

Bring up a child to help you out and tell the child they need a wand to help you. Ask them if they brought one. They say no. You say its okay because you have one thats real magic. You know this because you found it in David Copperfield's garbage can. Hand them the wand and do your comedy as it breaks and you fix it a few times. Once the joke starts to get old, say Know wonder this was in his garbage can, as you look at it broken. Then put the wand away and hand him a real wand. Or if you want to continue with the fun, give him another trick wand.

David Ginn used to do a little routine with it where he makes it go straight again by twirling it in the air, and then gives back to the kid again...then it breaks again, once again, he shows the kid how to fix it, and the next time it breaks the kid starts twirling it around in the air. It all adds comedy to a trick he is trying to accomplish.

I believe he wrote the full routine out in "Kidbiz" by David Ginn.
