Whenever I do kid's parties, I like to do one set. The set is as follows;
1. Bottle / Cup Routine (This is like The Peanut Butter Jelly Trick)
2. Linking Rings
3. Cups and Balls
4. Sponge Balls (I produce them at the end of my cups and balls routine)
5. Floating Light Bulb (By now it's starting to get dark...)
6. Disappearing Candle (As it disappears, so do I!)

This is my half hour show, if someone pays for a longer show, I usually add some tricks with child involvement. Anyways, this is my favorite set, and it has worked for me for about half a year...

:shock:
Let's re-word that as, "audience participation."
It's a safer way to go...

Where do you find the floating light bulb? Anyway, looks good to me.

Metzykid, you posted a routine in the restaurant forum also. Seems that everyone agreed with me over there. You have no idea of what you are talking about and are just spreading fertilizer (read that as "bull$hit) Knock it off.

I would say that cups and balls are too confusing for children. Also, it is never smart to use fire if you do not absolutely have to, so saying that, I would have to say that any trick with a candle is a terrible idea.

Good point, I just let that idea fly out of my head without really thinking. Presentation is so important with a trick like that because it is so easy to let it get confusing.

If you do use a cups and balls routine, it must be easy to follow, and short.
Gazzo's routine seems like a good routine for children. The first phase is a sucker effect, so they start screaming " Oh it's in your mouth!!" The next phase of elimination gets them involved. The final loads make them pull their hair out!! :lol:
